Leadership Essentials for Law Enforcement Professionals is designed for active law enforcement officers who are emerging leaders or currently occupy a leadership position (at any level). This course will encourage participants to examine their current leadership profile and their function and impact as an effective leader. The course will challenge participants to embrace leadership qualities which will help them to develop the full potential of the teams they lead and inspire excellence, professionalism and high achieving results in the process.

Instructor:
Terry Beckstrom is the founder of The Beckstrom Group, LLC based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Terry began his law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff and later state constable in South Carolina. Terry spent over 25 years as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), investigating international criminal organizations at the highest levels. Terry completed assignments in Columbia, S.C., Miami, Fla., and Raleigh, N.C., as well as temporary duty assignments in the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. Terry finished his career with DEA leading an award-winning task force group, recognized as being one of the highest producing enforcement groups in DEA history. Terry is a dynamic and sought-after speaker and instructor who has trained thousands of law enforcement officers domestically and internationally.. Terry graduated from the University of South CarolinaColumbia, attended graduate school at Florida International University, and holds certificates in Executive Leadership and Advanced Negotiations from Cornell University and The Harvard Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School respectively. Terry is also the author of three published books: LiveSafe, A Practical Guide to Personal and Family Security (2014), Spoken Silently, The Art and Practice of Reading People (2016), and First Impressions, The Art and Practice of Making a Profoundly Positive First Impression (2019).
