Prevention
AC HIDTA
Prevention Initiative consists of training and programming for law enforcement,
military, educators, counselors, and Drug Free Communities (DFC). The
"Tactical Leadership" training focuses on intra-personal skills,
communication, belief Intelligence, SWOT analysis, strategic planning, and
leadership skills. In addition, we are piloting specialized training and
programing for US Army recruiters and future soldiers.
AC HIDTA provides
evidence-based Social-Emotional (SEL) Prevention programming called GPS for
SUCCESS. This “Prevention” is offered to School Resource Officers, Schools,
after-school programs, Youth Challenge Academies, and counselors. The
focus of the SEL Prevention programming is to "shift the
conversation" from what drugs are and can do but rather to focus on their
big vision and life goals. This is reinforced with digital programming for
grades 1-12 focusing on the 5 core principles: Vision, Purpose, Mission, Team,
and Commitment. (www.gpsforsuccess.org)
