The Queen City Regional Commercial Transportation HIDTA (QCRCT) is a cooperative partnership of Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies interdicting illicit narcotics and currency transiting to and from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) as well as commercial mail facilities. The task force is led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The QCRCT will conduct operations targeting flights to known drug distribution and money laundering areas of the United States.
The QCRCT will conduct non-intrusive inspections of checked and carry-on luggage utilizing certified canines assigned to the team by their respective parent agencies. The team will also routinely conduct interdiction operations at the existing commercial mail facilities and will utilize HSI’s unique border search authority to conduct warrantless extended border searches on packages originating outside of the United States.
