The Airport Group is a partnership of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in a task force led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The task force is collocated within HSI space at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (AHJIA). The mission of the Airport Group is to combat existing and emerging Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs), Money Laundering Organizations (MLOs), and Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) by employing the full range of federal, state, local, and international law enforcement resources in the fight to identify, investigate, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations posing significant threats to public safety and border security.
This initiative also utilizes its broad legal authority to investigate cross-border, transnational, criminal activity operating throughout the Northern District of Georgia who try to exploit and utilize the passenger, commercial cargo, and express parcel environments at AHJIA.
