The North Georgia Task Force Initiative (NGTF) is a partnership of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the Floyd County area. The task force is collocated with the DEA Post of Duty in the city of Rome, Georgia. The NGTF focuses on identifying, disrupting and dismantling the activities of Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs), and their associated Money Laundering Organizations (MLOs), as well as seizing their cash and other assets.
Targets prevalent domestic factions of the Sinaloa, CJNG, and Mexican Mafia Cartels, as well as criminal street gangs, specifically the Gangster Disciples, the Bloods, and the Los Surenos, primarily acting as prison brokers. (Of note is the discovery that other criminal gangs have recently broken Los Surenos’ monopoly on the prison broker trade. It remains to be seen if this is a temporary situation or a new trend.) Investigates poly drug cartels which continue to operate out of Mexico, that coordinate and distribute illicit drugs and opioids in this region.
