Georgia Low Country Task Force

Savannah / Chatham County

The Georgia Low Country Task Force (LCTF) Initiative is a partnership of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the Chatham County area, collocated within the DEA Resident Office (RO) in Savannah. The LCTF focuses on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling, the activities of Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs) and their associated Money Laundering Organizations (MLOs), as well as seizing their cash and other assets.

Targets prevalent domestic factions of the Sinaloa, CJNG, and Gulf Cartels, as well as criminal street gangs, specifically the Ghost Face Gangsters, the Bloods, and the Los Surenos, who primarily act as prison brokers. (Of note is the discovery that other criminal gangs have recently broken Los Surenos’ monopoly on the prison broker trade. It remains to be seen if this is a temporary situation or a new trend.) Investigates poly drug cartels operating out of Mexico who distribute illicit drugs and opioids in this region.
