Metro Atlanta Task Force

Metro Atlanta

The Metro Atlanta Task Force (MATF) Initiative consists of four (4) separate task forces comprised of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies conducting investigations throughout the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. The MATF fully exploits the Command-and-Control elements of Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs), specifically the domestic factions of the Sinaloa, CJNG, La Nueva Familia Michoacána, Golfo, and Unidos Cartels, responsible for the transportation and distribution of controlled substances from the Republic of Mexico to Atlanta and points east, and the illegal drug proceeds from the USA to Mexico; and criminal street gangs, Tren de Aragua (TdA) and Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13).

Fully identifies, targets, disrupts, and dismantles local, regional, national, and international elements of these Mexican DTOs and criminal street gangs. The intricate highway and interstate systems throughout the Atlanta area, as well as the secondary road systems affords DTOs easy access from the Mexico border to the East/Southeast.
